Hometown: Prior Lake, MN (I moved to Minnesota from Mexico when I was 12.) Major: Human Resource Development in the College of Education and Human Development Minor: Leadership Why Geida chose the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities: "I visited campus and thought it was a great fit for me. The metropolitan location allowed me to have extraordinary opportunities and make unforgettable memories with my friends (at cultural events, museums, sporting events, parks and lakes, and so many more). I was also unsure of what I wanted to study, so the variety of programs was important. I was able to choose from over 135 majors and take classes from many different areas to find my passion." Favorite University of Minnesota class: "It's a tie between Marriage and Family Communications and Makeup for the Actor. They were so engaging, and I built great relationships with the instructors for each class. Because of this, I felt comfortable participating and asking questions whenever I needed help. Most importantly, I had fun." Favorite student organization or extracurricular activity: "I was part of the women's lacrosse team and we had such a great time traveling and playing against other universities around the country. I got the opportunity to meet new people, travel, learn from a great coach, and become a better lacrosse player!" Favorite U of M Memory: "If I HAD to choose one it would probably be attending men's hockey games. My friends and I bought season tickets and we had so much fun cheering for the Gophers!" |
